going north

yesterday I received a letter from YFU. I knew it would contain the acceptance of my scholarships… or not. In fact I didn’t get any of all those scholarships I applied for. And have to pay 5,000 euros until the last day of December this year.

This doesn’t have to mean I can’t go, but there’s a chance that I can’t magically find 5,000 euros in my dorm room and I have to stay here.

At first I was shocked and didn’t know what to do. Then I decided to write mails and do phone calls to every single company I know and ask if they may have interest to do some extraordinary fairy-godmothering. Then I became angry after my web provider had some problems and I couldn’t send those mails. I asked myself why I wasn’t allowed to got but those bitches with super rich parents. Then I realised my oppinion was unfair and subejctive. But then I realised that the only thing which is unfair is that kids with two doctors as parents got scholarships or because they host a student of YFU right now. And in the end I realised that I only lost my trust in YFU because I had some bad luck.

So I’m going to call YFU and cry some more. Then I’m going to ask the Salzmannschule Freundeskreis if they want to promote me or whatever. Maybe there are some church communities who want to donate money for me. 

Anyway: I will not give up.

Yes. I’m back. Back from one week of adventure. Now my VBT is over, I can’t wait anymore to start the year of my life. I want to see all those awesome people again as soon as possible!

Despite the fact in not allowed to tell anything further, I wouldn’t even want. After I’ve experienced this myself, I have to confess: telling more about those preparation camps would ruin the impact on yourself, the fun, well everything!

It was just so ingenuous! Freaking awesome. I met so many people, who were so friendly, open-minded, interesting and just somehow… Cool :D

Now, I really feel prepared for successes and the disappointments. About 2,5 months left until I leave. But first I have to pass my exams! How about good luck wishes?

I got the date of my flight. I’ve no idea what to think about this right know. Looks like I depart the 1st august, but don’t know the exact time yet…

anyway, I got invited for my VBT, kind of a preparation-thingy. i wasn’t excited until today because a friend of mine, who’s going to Türkiye, stepped in front of me with her YFU-shirt after she got back from hers. she told me nothing about it, just it was freaking awesome and that i should be jealous. little bitch.

also, we decided to create a group blog soon, because reading just my shit is going to be boring, so we gonna spice it up with some türkiye and some Us-shit. So this blog is going to be deleted in about some weeks, but i’ll announce further information, just if anybody cares ^^

So my VBT is going to be in Lauenburg and this week we only have two days school, so nothing to drive my attention off our graduation-exams. yay. i haven’t learned yet. not because i don’t have to, because i’m a good student. no. i’m a shit student.

right now summer started in germany and i’m wearing this.

Can anybody give tips what to wear at the VBT and how to look sympathic for cool people? usually those need about a year to figure out that i’m better on the inside.

Hello again!some time passed since the last time I blogged… but: finally I received the invitation for my vbt. it’s some kind of meeting of all students who are soon leaving germany for… well I think the kids I’m going to meet are all heading for Scandinavia, but actually I don’t know for sure.

anyway: I’m just TOTALY F-ING EXCITED! I can’t wait anymore to meet all those people, learn more about my year, finland or whatever. just don’t want to wait any longer!

So to all those people reading this: I’m going to arrive at the 5th May in Lauenburg for this meeting. if you have the same date and place please text me :3

SO. Finally I’ve got a letter from YFU again! I opened it and… one paper. wow. I’ve expected somehow more… But it turned out, that I’m now able to log into some website of YFU and have to edit and submit and let people sign various documents! After I logged in I printed all this stuff and gone through this whole stuff.

It consisted of documents for a general doctor (e.g. I don’t have tuberculosis) or for dentists so that my teeth are okay… But I have to scan my passport and upload photos and even have to write a letter. The most things aren’t a problem, but the PICTURES. How am I suppposed to upload pictures, on which I look nice and blah, if they don’t exist. My smile is creepy. Oh god.

Anyway: My tutor signed all my reports from school so the school stuff is finished. The only things left are the Certififcates of Health and some personal information. oh yeah, and the photos. and the letter to my host familiy. oh boy. So much things to do! Better get it done now!

nakymatonlapsi asked: A good way to learn the written language (kirjakieli) is to read as much in finnish as possible and also take finnish (äidinkieli) or finnish as second language (suomi toisena kielenä) lessons in school. I was an exchange student in Finland two years ago (with yfu as well) and for me it worked that way. :)

oh boy! I didn’t even think, that anybody would answer me! And if anybody would, I wouldn’t have thought that it would be that helpful! I planned to do a finnish course in every jakso, but the stuff with the book sounds great! Do you know any finnish authors? So far I know Sofi Oksanen and Tove Jansson…
